Toodles, Toronto

The day of my conference trip and I still have so much to do! The weather is overcast and rainy (hello, 34C and sun in Charlotte!), I haven't taken pictures of the trees outside and, worst of all, I don't know what books to bring :( I mean, I've got my academic books ready to go- but should I bring two, or three? And what's my fun book going to be? I've had a brief look in the hostage room and just can't settle on one from a stack. I feel like size of book might play a factor in the choice, as I can't have too heavy a backpack or else I'll have to check my luggage and that wasn't my intention.

I do have this cool app on my phone that gives me access to just about all literature published before 1923, but have you tried to read Les Miserables on an iPhone? There's about 4,500 pages. Making progress is a little depressing, actually. I'll get through a 'page' in a couple of seconds and go to the next one only to realise that by the end of my subway trip, I've read 'twenty pages' and that it really probably just amounts to about two in a paperback version. I'm just over 5% finished the book, and it's sort of my goal to have it completely done by next week. Lord knows I started it long enough ago...

Requisite line about the lousy weather still here and not going away for the foreseeable future (just wait until it's 5C on Saturday!)

More updates later!
